Maria Jaritsch

MSc

Maria Jaritsch is a Senior Technician at the LBI-NVPM within the Nanovesicular Drug Shuttles Research Program Line. Her work focuses on the isolation, characterization and labelling of extracellular vesicles, including the tracking and functional characterization of EVs from diverse sources as well as hybrids of biological and synthetic vesicles in therapeutically relevant in-vitro and in-vivo models. She has particular expertise in immunofluorescence staining protocols and labeling strategies for high content characterization of single vesicles in vitro, as well as tracking them in cells, histological sections and whole organs, and is a go-to person for a variety of advanced imaging and image analysis techniques.

She completed her Master’s degree in Medical Biology at the University of Salzburg and her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology at the University of Vienna. In 2020 she joined the group of Meisner-Kober’s lab first for her research on the Immobilization, labeling and visualization of cell culture and bovine milk derived extracellular vesicles and later as a Research Assistant in a project on oral drug delivery using milk-derived extracellular vesicles.
