Cristian-Tudor Matea is a Senior Scientist, where he contributes to research on extracellular vesicles and nanomaterials for biomedical applications within the Meisner-Kober group. His work focuses on the isolation and molecular characterization of naturally occurring nanoparticles, particularly extracellular vesicles, as well as the controlled synthesis of inorganic nanomaterials (carbon nanotubes, Au, Ag, magnetic nanoparticles, and quantum dots) and the development of surface‑functionalization and analytical strategies for biomedical translation.
He joined the research group of Prof. Dr. Nicole Meisner-Kober at the University of Salzburg in 2020. He brings over 18 years of experience in academic and pharmaceutical (GMP/GLP) settings, specializing in nanotechnology and biotechnology for life‑science applications. His work has resulted in numerous scientific contributions, including book chapters, peer-reviewed publications and 17 granted patents.
