In program line 3, we are developing a comprehensive catalog of theralytic methodologies for NV characterization and quality control, their tracking in vivo, and for biomarker discovery. The heterogeneity and small size of EVs demand a novel repertoire of bioanalytical technologies to enable the characterization of NV therapeutics, their tracking in preclinical and clinical settings, and their ultimate quality control. To quote Melanie Schürz:

Vesicle research is an extraordinarily diverse field: on the one hand, it opens up new insights into fundamental mechanisms of cell communication and, at the same time, harbours the potential to play a key role in shaping innovative diagnostic and therapeutic procedures of the future.
